Your Visa Interview
The Kentucky Consular Center sets the appointment for the Consular Visa Interview. You will be informed of the date 4-8 weeks in advance.
You will receive a message from the KCC that a Notice is waiting for you in the eDV system. This Notice is called the Appointment Notification or Second Notification Letter or KCC 2nd NL. It contains the interview location and date/time and further instructions.
If you are unavailable contact the KCC to reschedule.
Rescheduling can delay your procedure and jeopardize your visa !
You need the Barcoded Confirmation Page(s) from the DS-260 Application and the Appointment Notification to be admitted to the Embassy or Consulate.
Some Embassies/Consulates dispense number tickets at the door indicating the order of the interviews. You must put the number ticket on top of your Visa Interview documentation ‘package’.
You cannot bring a friend or family member with you inside the Embassy or Consulate for moral support.
Some Embassies/Consulates first send a form on which you must indicate that you have all required documentation for the Visa Interview. The completed form must be returned. You can be asked to sent copies of the documents.
For Selected Entrants already living in the U.S.:
USCIS informs AOS applicants with an I-797 Notice of Appointment of location and date/time for the Visa Interview.
You must contact USCIS if rescheduling is necessary.
